First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NJOY.
Engineering Lab Technician
I'd never interviewed so many times before like I did with NJOY. It felt strange at first, but with every interview, I learned more about the job and the company overall. They do this because they want to understand your expertise and how you'd fit into the company culture in different ways, rather than trying to get it all done in one long interview where you might forget things, not say enough, or get misunderstood.

Receptionist/Administrative Assistant
The interview process was really straightforward. I had a phone call with the recruiter and then with the hiring manager on the same day. After that, I came in for in-person meetings with both the CHRO and the COO individually. They told me they needed to fill the position quickly, and I got an offer in under a month. It was a really thorough and well-executed process, actually one of the best I've been through.
- What makes you want to join NJOY?
Strategic Account Associate
After applying, I was emailed an Excel test as the second step, which was weird since it wasn't the first step and they hadn't reviewed my resume yet. Once I passed the test, I had my first "initial" Zoom interview with the hiring manager. Then, I had a panel interview with 4 people back-to-back for 2 hours. During that panel, different people said they were the hiring manager and asked if I'd prefer an associate or manager role, which sounded promising given my 5 months of unemployment. After two weeks of no response to my status inquiry, I was contacted by a recruiter about a role in the vaping industry. He confirmed it was with NJOY. After I told him I hadn't heard back, I got a generic rejection email that didn't even mention the role or the six steps I'd completed. It was frustrating considering I'd interacted with many people throughout the process, and each round had different admin schedulers.
- Would you be open to working in this industry?
Product Manager
I was first contacted by a recruiting firm with the job details. After an initial screening call with them, I then had a phone interview with the heads of Product Management and Operations. Next, I attended an in-person interview where I met with four employees, including the COO. I was really impressed by how much they knew about the company and how smart, friendly, and competent they all seemed. The interviews weren't overly technical; they mainly focused on assessing if I was smart, capable, and a diligent worker. The whole experience was enjoyable and quite convincing!
