First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ninjja Global.
Account Executive
I applied online and got a call pretty fast for an interview. The first interview was with the CEO, which started late. They made the job sound amazing, like I'd be a manager soon. I got a second interview for Monday. On that Monday, there were about 8 other people interviewing for the same job. We were split up and assigned a 'corporate leader' to shadow. The next step was to shadow this woman. If she thought I was good enough, I'd go back to the CEO for a final interview. The shadowing involved her taking me to a rough area where we met other account executives. I had to take notes about the CEO and the company, which sounded more and more like a pyramid scheme. The whole team was out on the street asking strangers for donations for Heifer International, but no one gave any money. This went on for 6 hours. I kept asking if there was a base salary or if it was commission-only, but they wouldn't tell me, just said to wait until I got the job. Then I had the third part of the interview with the CEO. She asked me why I was better than the other candidates. I was offered the job, but I felt uneasy and said I'd call back. After chasing the CEO for info on salary and being ignored, I decided against it. This place exploits people who need jobs, having them work for free, collecting donations. It's a Monday-Saturday, 9am-7pm job with no base pay. A total scam. This whole process took up so much of my time, but it was a lesson in spotting scams.

Assistant Manager
If you pass the first interview, you spend some hours with the team, they show you the day-to-day tasks and you do some little tasks that they evaluate later. I think is the great way to show you what you are gonna do if you are hired.

Event Sales and Promotions Assistant
This company felt like a multi-level marketing scam, or at least its close relative. They weren't upfront during hiring. I was called for a second interview for the Event Sales and Promotions Assistant role. This involved a 'voluntary day' to 'experience the company's processes' and see how their 'unique marketing methods benefit both consumer and client.' In reality, we were taken off-site to places like Coconut Grove, Miami Beach, etc., by a 'Corporate Trainer.' There, we observed the job, were fed recruitment pitches, and asked to write about our 3-month/1-year goals and priorities, explaining our choices. For example, we had to rank Family, Fun, Fortune, Fame, and Freedom and justify each. The trainer also made us do a CEO's pros/cons list for salary, hourly, and commission pay, clearly pushing the commission-based structure despite the $4/hour base before commission. The actual job is street soliciting for monthly donations. They only post this role because 'everyone starts there and works their way up – no outside hires.' I was with 3 others who applied for different roles (intern, management training) but we all had the same second interview experience together. The company has 4 'levels': Account Executive (street soliciting), Corporate Trainer (street soliciting + recruiting interviews), Manager (overseeing 12-20 people), and CEO (supposedly reaching $10k+/week in 5-10 months by starting your own company based on a business plan, which sounded unbelievable). Hours were Monday-Saturday, 8:30 am-6:30 pm. Benefits seemed unlikely as it's a commission-based 'freelancer' role with implied no PTO/sick time. The interview started with personal goal questions and presenting concepts like '5 steps of a conversation' and '8 keys to success,' which we'd later be tested on back at the office. I left before the second part, which involved a knowledge test and meeting a CEO. The whole day was long, they sprung the off-site part on us last minute, and we were stuck outside in the rain. It felt like a bait-and-switch calling it 'Event Sales and Promotions Assistant' when it's street soliciting. They were evasive about pay and hours, telling me to write questions down for later instead of answering upfront. I felt weirded out and got a shady vibe, so I left.

Marketing Intern
I interviewed outside in front of a supermarket with an Assistant Manager. We were in the sun while they were working on getting people to sign up to donate to the non-profits they work for.
