We had 4 different online screens. First, a head of recruiting call. Then, a tech screen with two higher responsibility devs. After that, a screen with the head of engineering. The final chat was with the CEO. They're growing rapidly, so I feel like there isn’t a huge in-depth test skill-wise but they really focus on culture. Three different personality assays definitely show it.

I had a video call with a recruiter first, and it went really well. He actually mentioned setting up the next round with the hiring manager while we were still on the call. The hiring manager was great, and we had a good conversation. A few days later, the recruiter left me a voicemail saying he was still waiting to hear back from the hiring manager. A few more days passed, and I didn't hear anything so I sent an email. Then, I got completely ghosted.

Behavioral Technical Presentation

The interview process felt really refreshing because it was so well put together. Ninety's recruiter contacted me about a week after I applied. We quickly set up a Zoom call. After that, I interviewed with the department head and did an assessment. Then I had a third interview with another department head, completed two more assessments, and had my final interview with the CEO. Everyone was really nice, and the recruitment team kept me updated throughout. The whole thing felt quick and easy.

Behavioral Technical

The hiring process at Ninety was a bit of a mixed bag. While the company itself is great with a solid SaaS product, an energetic CEO, and good benefits, the interview process had some real obstacles. It felt like there were built-in challenges, especially these irrelevant 'critical thinking' tests. The recruiter was fantastic though, reaching out quickly after I applied on LinkedIn and setting up a Zoom call within a week. He was enthusiastic and really believed in the company's mission. We moved quickly until the next step, which was an online 'critical thinking' test with several parts. While some questions were relevant, like verbal reasoning and business principles, many were confusing. There were algebra problems, scheduling scenarios with difficult employees, and pattern recognition tasks on weird charts. It's hard to see how these tests help Ninety find a senior business writer. The recruiter mentioned the company might be shifting focus from a senior business writer to a marketer. It felt like a missed opportunity, given the potential at Ninety, but it's unclear if they can overcome these internal issues to hire the experts they need.
