So, I interviewed a while back, before Covid hit. It started with a quick phone screening, and then I had one in-person interview. They asked some basic questions about my interests, experience, and assessed my skills. I also had to do a typing test for WPM and a math test, no calculator allowed.

I knew the owner of the company, so I reached out to her via phone and email. She invited me for an interview for the Sales Director position. The interview went really well, but ultimately, they decided to promote someone already working there who was familiar with the company's systems and procedures. She did mention there might be future opportunities.

I had a phone call interview for the Fashion Apparel Merchandiser position in New York. I had done my research on the company and was prepared for the interview. All I can say was that the reviews I had read on Glassdoor about the company and the interview process was right. My issues with the interview: 1. I received a text message about the employer being late for the phone call. I don't know about anyone else, but I believe it is very unprofessional when an employer sends you a text message. 2. When we finally started the phone call, the employer asked me unrelated questions about my GPA, which had nothing to do with the position I applied for. Let alone the employer mistaking my resume for someone else's. 3. After explaining what I am looking for in the job, the employer became very belittling and rude. I believe anyone can be qualified for a job with the proper training and guidance, which it didn't seem they were willing to do. Keeping in mind I have a Bachelors degree in Fashion Merchandising and Apparel Design while also obtaining a Marketing minor, so I am capable of executing each task as pointed out in the job description. 4. The employer's attitude and tone throughout the whole interview process came off as rude, unprepared, and judgmental. I am someone who, with a position given to me, will put in 1000%. I strive to be knowledgeable and execute everything that I do. So for the interview process to go so left and being asked questions that had nothing to do with the position left me very disappointed with the company.

The phone interview went well initially. I felt a good connection with the owner and we even shared some laughs. After that, I was asked to visit the boutique and create a marketing plan with specific goals. I did both and sent it over. Unfortunately, the owner didn't respond to my emails or calls. I reached out again a week later, but still heard nothing. It's been almost three weeks. While I understand they may have chosen another candidate, a simple response would have been appreciated. Based on other reviews, the company's professionalism and organization could be improved.
