So, I had this interview for a Support Engineer role. It kicked off with a phone call with the engineering director, who's actually based overseas. The questions were pretty technical, focusing on my experience with SAN/NAS, using benchmarking tools like fio and Quest, and my programming skills. Even though it's a support role, there's a part where you'd do QA during downtime. Apparently, the company handles all its support in-house, and because they offer premium support to all customers, the support team really needs to be technically strong.

The interview process was pretty straightforward. I was asked about storage and my specialty for the role. Most of the in-depth questions were focused on that, so if you're going in with a needed skillset, you better know it. Also, be aware that the interviewer might think they know the answers, but they might just be book smarts, not practical. It's kinda like taking an MS exam; you gotta know what they want to hear.
