Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NielsenIQ.
Data Analyst
The interview process was pretty straightforward and everyone was really professional. First, I had a chat with the HR recruiter, who was super helpful and quick to respond. After that, I interviewed with the hiring manager. We talked about my technical skills, my previous internship, and why I'm interested in data operations. Everyone was really friendly, which made it a relaxed experience for someone just starting out.

Data Analyst
Had a couple of interviews before landing the job. Started with an HR interview, then a panel interview, and finally an in-person case study. It was time-consuming and pretty tough compared to other times I've interviewed. The panel members were good people, the vibe was friendly, and everything was approached professionally. Communication was really smooth, and they explained everything clearly.
- Given a case study about a specific company, analyze and present on its performance.

At NIQ, the interview process is set up to check both your technical skills and personal competencies across a few steps. It started with a screening call from talent acquisition who went over the role, the company, and answered my initial questions. Next, I got an online assessment to show my numerical reasoning and problem-solving abilities. Later, I had interviews with technical and/or product team folks where they asked about my past work, my knowledge in programming (R, Python, SQL), data analysis, and problem-solving scenarios. Sometimes, they might ask for a business case presentation or technical exercises to see how I tackle actual job challenges. Lastly, a competency-based interview assesses soft skills like teamwork, critical thinking, and communication, usually using the STAR method. The whole thing felt very professional and aimed at finding a good mutual fit.
