Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NielsenIQ.

I applied online, then had an HR phone call, followed by a manager interview. The manager asked about my previous experiences, requested a self-introduction in English, and then asked me to share one of my projects with some follow-up questions. They also clearly explained the role and communicated in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.

My experience with GfK and NielsenIQ was really bad. We agreed on an offer, but then they kept me waiting for a whole month, saying they needed a ton of documents from different agencies before they could officially hire me. I'm an EU citizen and I checked with Bulgarian authorities and immigration experts, and they said I only needed a foreign tax number, which I'd already given them. I tried to get more info from the company, but they just ignored my calls and emails. A month after the offer, they finally called to say they couldn't finish the contract on time because of these mysterious "many documents." They still couldn't say what these documents were or why they didn't sort this out earlier. Honestly, with the ghosting, bad communication, and what felt like discrimination against EU applicants, I'd say avoid them. Look for a company that actually values your time. If you do go for it, remember the offer isn't legally binding, there was a note about that in the fine print. Seriously, keep looking for jobs until you have the signed contract in your hand.

It started with an HR screening, then a call with the director, and after that they set up a panel interview. They sent me a case study 48 hours before the panel. I had to present my findings and give the client advice. It all went well and the process was fast. After the presentation, they said they'd need a week to make a final decision. They were really impressed with my work on the project. A week later, they said no decision was made yet but they offered me an interview for another role. I had that interview and it went well. Another week passed, and they called me just to say they weren't offering me the position (even though I had 5x more experience than the person they hired). For the other interview, the manager commented that I 'looked stressed,' suggesting I might not perform well under pressure. They made assumptions about my personal life that would have no bearing on my job performance.
- Can you describe a situation where you had to convince someone of something?
