Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nickelodeon.
Production Intern
It was a very casual and conversational interview. We went over my resume and talked about my interests and long-term career goals. It was a very friendly atmosphere, and everyone seemed really welcoming.
- Why are you interested in working with us?
Production Intern
Application was simple - cover letter and resume emailed in. Got a screening call from an HR intern first, then had a group Skype interview with the show's crew a couple weeks later. The interview was standard questions with a few directed to find out more about my personality - likes, dislikes, that sort of thing. The main issue I have with Nick is their lack of follow-up. They promised to let me know either way if I got the internship, but they didn't. And it's not the first time. I've talked to a lot of other students now who were told the same thing and never heard anything as well, even after making it to the last step.
- Tell me about who your personal hero is.
Production Intern
The interview was over the phone and it went really well. The recruiter had reviewed my resume and cover letter beforehand so she was familiar with my background and was more interested in getting to know me and what I could contribute to the project since it was a temporary role.
- What experience do you have working in live production?
- Have you managed a team before?
