First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NICHQ.
Director of Marketing
The interview process was standard and well-organized. It started with an HR phone call, followed by a Zoom meeting with senior leadership. Both interactions were pleasant, professional, and the people I spoke with were responsive. Although I didn't get the job, I had a positive overall experience with the interview.
- Can you describe how your previous experience has equipped you for this role?
Analyst
HR called me after I applied. Then I had three more interviews with four people. The whole process felt really unclear. They never told me how many people I'd talk to or what the interview process looked like. After the last interview, they said they'd be in touch. Three weeks went by with no word, so I asked for an update. They said they thought they'd told me last week that I didn't get the job. I never got any call or message. I expected better after all the interviews, especially since I liked the people and felt they liked me too. It was a really disappointing experience.
- What makes you want this job?
- Tell me about your experience with systems work.
Project Manager
It was fair and casual. There were 3 interviewers. They asked position-related questions. It was hard to get a sense of the company culture, and there wasn't a clear promotion path. The people seemed smart. The benefits are okay, but I heard the turnover rate is high. They have very compelling projects. It's a great entry-level opportunity for new MPH grads.
- Describe your experience.
Project Specialist
I had a phone interview about a week after applying. Then, I was invited for an in-person interview where I spoke with three people who worked there for 30 minutes each. They said I'd know in a week or two, but I never heard back.
- Tell me about a mistake you made and how you dealt with it.
- What would your previous boss say are your two greatest strengths and areas for improvement?
