First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NHS Healthcare Support Workers.
HCA
The interview was about 30 minutes and I was asked about five or six questions. The people were nice and professional, which made me feel comfortable. The questions touched on my past experiences, values, and included two hypothetical situations and some problem-solving.
- Could you tell me what you know about our company values, and why you think this question is being asked?
- What do you know about our values, and why do you think this is a relevant question for us to ask you?
Support Worker
It was a face-to-face interview. I was on a panel with three people who asked me questions. Each of them asked about three questions, focusing on the NHS 6 Cs (Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage, Commitment) and the values outlined in the NHS Constitution.
- What would you contribute to this support worker role?
Project Coordinator
I had an interview with a panel of 2 people, one being the senior project manager and the other someone not on the team. They seemed new to interviewing and nervous, but it actually put me at ease. They were friendly, approachable, and seemed impressed with my background. I think the decision was made before I even arrived because the job went to someone with the exact same experience.
- Can you tell us about yourself?
Office Administrator
The whole interview process lasted around 30 minutes. It involved a series of questions covering company values, confidentiality, safeguarding, data quality, and teamwork. The interviewers were nice and didn't judge, creating a comfortable atmosphere.
- Can you tell me about your values?
- How do you approach confidentiality in the workplace?
- What does safeguarding mean to you, and how would you handle it?
