Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NextGen Healthcare.
Billing Specialist
The interview was pretty relaxed and informal. Everyone was dressed casually, although I chose to wear business attire. The questions were straightforward and simple. We discussed attending the same schools and the conversation naturally expanded from there.
- Can you tell me about yourself and your background?
Implementation Specialist
I applied online and the recruiter reached out to schedule a phone screen. After that, I was invited for an onsite interview where I met with several team members for about two hours. About a week later, the recruiter called to let me know I wasn't chosen. She mentioned it was surprising given my background, which I also found surprising. When I asked about the specific skills I lacked, she couldn't say, just that there was a lot of competition. It wasn't a professional experience in the end.
- How would you handle challenging customer interactions?
Implementation Specialist
First, I had a phone call with the manager of the implementation team. It was pretty laid-back, mostly asking about how I'd handle travel and team dynamics. Then, they flew me to Austin for the day. The manager said I'd meet some team members first. I did two rounds of meetings with them, and everyone was super friendly and informal, mostly talking about life on the road and team structure. Finally, I met with the manager again. We chatted about a few more things informally, and she basically offered me the job. She asked about my salary expectations, said she thought I was a good fit, and that was that. While I waited for my ride back to the airport, the recruiter called and offered me the job, paying about 6k more than I asked for.
- What were your salary expectations?
