First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NextEra Energy, Inc..
Intern
I went through a HireView, then had a chat with the manager, and finally met with two team members. They asked standard behavioral questions and some general questions about my energy and coding background, but no actual technical coding questions. My interviewers seemed to have reviewed my HireView and resume beforehand.
- Can you elaborate on your modeling and coding experience, and how you've handled situations with limited computational power?
Intern
I connected with a recruiter at a job fair and then had an interview the very next day. It was purely behavioral, with no technical questions. The interview was one-on-one and focused mainly on conflict resolution, my communication style and preferences, and other basic behavioral topics. The interviewer mentioned I likely wouldn't hear back for at least a month, possibly closer to two.
- Which would you prefer: giving a presentation or writing a report?
Intern
Got an interview set up for later in the week after meeting at my campus' job fair. It was in the wind energy building. Two older guys were there, seemed kinda bored, and hit me with some behavior and technical questions.
- What would you do if your car battery died on your way to class?
- How many amps are given by resistance and voltage?
- What's the distinction between AC and DC?
