There were several interviews that lasted about 30 to 45 minutes each, where I met different people from the company. They let me know in advance what each person would be focusing on so I could prepare. The recruiter was my main point of contact throughout the process, checking in to see how I felt about each step.

I put in my application online and heard back about a week later. First, there was a quick 15-minute phone chat with an account manager who explained the role and I talked about my experience. Then, I was directed to HR for another 15-minute call, which happened about 10-12 days after the first one. The next step involved several back-to-back 30-minute interviews via Google Hangouts, along with a 15-minute chat with HR. These interviews were mostly casual and informative. About three days after that, HR called to let me know they wouldn't be proceeding with my application. They mentioned the role had shifted to focus on programmatic aspects and that my current experience managing 'small accounts' didn't align with their need to manage large accounts at Nextdoor.

The interview process began positively with a prompt response to my resume submission on Nextdoor, which included an internal referral. I had an initial phone screen with the recruiter, followed by a phone screen with the hiring manager. I felt both calls went well and was told by both the recruiter and hiring manager that I'd know about the next steps early the following week. However, the process then took a turn as there was no follow-up, and my subsequent emails to the recruiter for an update went unanswered. This was quite unprofessional and gives me a poor impression of the recruiting team/leadership at Nextdoor, especially since the initial conversations were very positive and the recruiter seemed genuine. What happened after that was strange and disappointing.
