Inside Sales Representative
I sat down with the Inside Sales Manager and the VP of Sales for a pretty standard interview. The VP of Sales doesn't normally join interviews, but he did for mine. They "took a chance" on me because I was a recent grad and didn't have much experience then, which was the most memorable part of the interview.
- Where do you see yourself within the company?
Outside Sales Representative
You start by talking to HR to get into the hiring manager's pipeline. This part wasn't too difficult. The HR phone interview focused mainly on behavioral questions. After that, you meet with the Hiring Manager, who oversees three similar sales divisions. The interview is straightforward if you have average or better experience selling in the home and can present yourself effectively.
- Can you describe your sales approach?
- Are you familiar with Robert Cialdini's work?
Outside Sales Representative
You'll first meet with the manager for a get-to-know-you session. After that, you'll meet with other senior management to understand their values and future goals, and to get a feel for the environment.
- Describe a time you had to deal with an unexpected issue during a sale.
