Account Manager
Saw a posting for a role under technical support, but the description was super vague. It mentioned working with big telecom companies but didn't say what I'd actually do. Applied and got a call the next day to schedule an interview for the day after. Went to a nice office, but the company name on the door was different. Filled out an application, which was easy. Waited about 20 mins. Lots of staff came in and went to the back. The waiting area couches were packed with other applicants. Got called in after 20 mins to a small office for a quick chat because so many people were waiting. They gave vague job details again, only mentioning I'd have to go door-to-door explaining a service. Then they asked about my hobbies and why I'd be a good fit. They scheduled another interview for the next day to explain more. I went home and checked online reviews and saw what people posted on this site. Turns out the job involves either standing in a Walmart or going door-to-door selling services like TV and internet. So I canceled the interview. I get that those jobs exist and are fine, but it wasn't what I wanted, and I wish they hadn't been so cagey about it. I think they could still hire people for those roles without trying to trick them with hidden details.

Promotions Assistant
So I went to this interview for Promotions Assistant, and it was a complete waste of my time. The company's in Lyndhurst, NJ. The whole first meeting took like 2 minutes, they just wanted to see my face and said the real interview was tomorrow. Seriously? I drove all the way there, spent money on gas and tolls, and they couldn't just interview me that day? After that 2-minute check, they told me if I got the job, I'd be promoted to Management in 6 months and run an office. They also boasted about having tons of famous clients, but online there's no info about that, like Costco, BJs, or Verizon. They claimed to have 60 offices and wanted to open 40 more by 2016, but from what I found, they only have a few small ones. They didn't really explain the job besides saying it was face-to-face marketing, which sounds like standing outside trying to sell stuff. This whole thing was a joke.
- Did you ask them any questions?
Account Executive
I started by filling out an application and attaching my resume in the lobby. Afterwards, I had a one-on-one interview with a hiring manager. We discussed the clients they work with, the services they provide, what they're looking for in candidates, and the available opportunities with their clients. They mentioned working with well-known companies in industries like telecommunications and home improvements. I was surprised to learn how many departments these large companies outsource, but their explanation of the reasoning made sense.
- Are you interested in moving into a leadership role in the future?
Project Manager
Got a call from the receptionist about a Project Manager position, starting salary was $45k-$65k. She said it wasn't commission only. The next day, I went to their Wayne office for the interview. The office was empty, and the receptionist gave me a generic application. The interview itself was bogus, and they explained it was just the first round for a door-to-door sales program and some warehouse work. Don't waste your time.
- Can you recruit people?
