Applied on LinkedIn and got an email from the company weeks later about interviewing me. Started with a phone screen. A week later, I got an email to do an Excel test that took 3 hours (unpaid). After the test, I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week about the third round, an online panel interview. I didn't hear back until the beginning of the next week to schedule it. After the third round, I was told I'd hear back by the end of the week again. As expected, they didn't contact me until the following week, breaking their word again. When they finally reached out, they said they were still finalizing details for a fourth round, an in-person interview, and that I'd hear back soon. Never heard back after that. The whole thing took over a month.
- How proficient are you with Microsoft Excel?
Business Analyst
Had one phone screen and then a panel interview. The panel interview was tougher than I expected and certainly tougher than the actual job. It went for about an hour on Skype.
- Can you describe the different parts of the Software Development Life Cycle?
Business Analyst
The first interview was with the hiring manager and the scrum master for a project with a long and stable future. The interview covered three main areas: basic BA responsibilities like user stories and requirements gathering, how my past experience relates to this role, and general personality questions. It was a good interview with friendly staff and relevant questions. The second interview was online with the program manager and focused more on my personality, problem-solving skills, cultural fit, potential weaknesses, and how I handle issues. This was also a good interview.
