NewtonX Interview Questions
& Process

The interview process included remote online interviews that focused on cultural fit, a case study, and a behavioral screen. The interviewers were kind, educated, and enthusiastic about the company, making it an enjoyable experience. They were also very communicative throughout the entire process.

The first interview was with a peer Operations Associate. It was pretty chill, and they asked really basic questions, though the interviewer seemed a bit nervous. They were friendly and on time, so it was a good experience overall. The second interview was set up as a case study, and I was prepped beforehand with a PowerPoint slide about Boolean Strings to review. In this second interview, the interviewer was super unfriendly, rushed, and seemed totally uninterested. I got the case study with hardly any info, and I had 30 minutes for the first task, 10 for the second, and 6 for the last. After each part, they went over my answers, said they agreed with everything, and offered a tiny bit of feedback. At the end, they just rushed off, said they had no time for questions, and abruptly left the video call. I had a hunch they already had someone picked and this was just a formality.

The first meeting with the head of engineering was great, they were kind and informative. The virtual online part was not good. First, behavior questions came before the technical ones, but it was still going okay. Then came the technical part which was terrible, I had to do a mock cooperation with a developer, they didn't understand the point of the whole process and forced me to use a specific tech stack. I really don't want to remember the third round, it was the worst.

The interview process had 2 rounds. The first round was a 30 minute exploratory chat about my background and fit, ending with two challenge questions I had 30 minutes to work on. The second round was about 2.5 hours. I spoke with the Head of Product about NewtonX and the role, then with a Customer Relationship Manager about how I'd tackle some of their issues. After that, I interviewed with the Head of People about why they should hire me. Finally, there was an hour-long session with the Head of Product, expanding on a first-round question. We worked on developing a live timeline for a product launch, considering given engineering resources and my approach to market strategy.
