First, there was an online numerical and behavioural test. If you passed that, you did a hirevue, which came pretty quickly after the test. The hirevue had typical questions like 'why newton, why this role, describe it to a family or friend' and also 'explain something you've learnt about recently' which didn't have to be consulting based. Then came the selection day or assessment centre. You meet everyone, introduce one of your peers to the group, then do a group exercise with half of the group, solving a logistics issue that newton had done themselves. Everyone gets individual bits of information. The assessor then comes into the group and asks you about what you came up with as a group and asks individual people about their information. Then you do another round of mini tests: a numerical one, behavioural one, and logic one. From the like 11 or 13 of us in the original group, 3 of us got invited back to the afternoon. Then you do a one on one technical exercise with an assessor, the same sort of logistics case study as you had with the group, but with more information. You run it through with the assessor and then have a final interview.

There's a good amount of info on the early parts of the process, but not much on the final interview, which is understandable given how tough the selection day is. The final interview is similar to the afternoon of the selection day, with a longer interview and a more extensive technical assessment. You'll work through problems and questions with director-level staff. They're helpful and not trying to trick you, but they will challenge you to explain your technical reasoning and your behavioral motivations, strengths, and weaknesses. My main advice for the technical exercise is to find case studies like those from your selection day (I won't spoil it, but there are good resources for similar problems). For the behavioral part, self-awareness is crucial. Try your best to build rapport with the interviewers, as you'll need to do the same with clients on-site, so they'll be looking for that. If you get this far, your chances are pretty good. Don't stress too much about earlier stages; if the final interview goes well, any issues you had previously won't hurt your chances.

The interview process was kind of annoying because I took leave for the day and they had me do tasks I'd already done in previous stages for half the day. Then, I didn't make it to the next half based on silly reasoning with unsatisfactory feedback.
