Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Newton.
Analyst
It started with a logic and reasoning test, then an assessment day centre. The assessment day had 3 parts: first, an introduction to the company and a 10-minute chat with another candidate where you present them. Then, another maths and logic test (like the first one) and a learn and apply task (reading a doc and applying rules). Lastly, a group case study.

- Describe a situation where you had to handle conflict within a team.
Analyst
A standard two-day assessment where some candidates might be eliminated halfway through. It involves both group and individual tasks. If requested, good feedback is provided after the assessment.
- What makes you want to join Newton?
Analyst
Did an on-demand video interview, then an assessment centre. The assessment centre had a prepared presentation, a numerical test, a case study, a team exercise, and 1:1 interviews. Had to give a three-minute presentation to everyone there. The numerical test and written case study were to measure against a universal benchmark (pass/fail). The team exercise was a standard quantitatively-based problem. The 1:1 interviews focused more on personal nature and approach to problems, based on your application info and performance in earlier stages, pretty standard.
- What's your biggest professional weakness?
