There were 3 rounds: first a recruiter screen, then the hiring manager, and finally the director. It was pretty straightforward. The first was just to see if I was a fit, and the next two were to check if I understood the role and the industry basics.

I wasn't going to post about this, but since the manager ghosted me, I feel I should share my experience. The interview process was great initially. I had two interviews, one with the hiring manager and another with the technical manager, over about two weeks. A week later, the hiring manager told me I got the job. After completing the background check paperwork, I heard nothing for 7 days. When I contacted HR, they said there were internal department changes and they decided to go in a different direction, which felt like a polite way of saying something else. It was unprofessional and left me thinking I had the job for weeks, which was disappointing since I was really excited about the possibility.

I had a two-stage interview process. The first stage was a chat with Effie, the HR VP, where we went over the job and my background. She thought I was a good fit and that I could move on to the next round. The second stage was with Lawton and Brigitte, and it was pretty weird and unprofessional. They seemed to want me to drive the conversation, which is odd for a two-on-one. They didn't ask me much in terms of real questions, mostly just how I handle my tasks and discussing the operations at Newtek One. I didn't get an offer about a week later. I asked Effie for some feedback but never heard back. I followed up a month later, and still no response. Super unprofessional place.

The interview process started with a recruiter call and then I met with the senior manager. There was no panel interview. The whole thing took about 3 weeks, which is pretty standard for banks. I'd say the screening was less intense though.
