Content Producer
The interview process was pretty simple and quick. It started with a phone call, then moved to a video meeting where I talked to the manager and news director. It took a few weeks to hear back, but I ended up getting an offer and accepted it.
- Tell me about your career experiences that brought you here.

I applied online in mid-June and was contacted by HR at the end of July for a phone interview. The interview went well, and I was told I'd hear about the next round the following Monday. After not hearing back, I followed up via email, and the HR rep responded using the wrong name, stating they were still in phase one. Two days later, I received a voicemail saying they decided to move forward with another candidate who had more experience. The incorrect name in the email felt unprofessional, but otherwise, it was an okay experience. A drug test was mentioned as a potential part of the process if I had advanced, but I didn't have to take one.
- What are your sources for news?
Social Media Manager
I applied online and got a phone interview really fast. I gave my availability for the one day the HR rep offered, but then didn't hear anything back. After that day passed, I followed up via email and got a new phone interview date. The rep on the phone was direct but not very friendly. She got annoyed when I asked her to repeat herself. Then she said they wanted someone with more experience, which they could have seen on my resume. It felt like a waste of time and left a bad impression.
- Tell me about a social media campaign you created and ran that you're particularly proud of.
- What strategies would you use to increase engagement when social media traffic is low?
Video Editor
It was super chill, not much of an interview. You get to Newsy (which is a really confusing place to find your way around) and probably won't know where to go. They don't have a proper interview space, so it's pretty out in the open. They don't ask many questions since they always have tons of openings.
- Tell me about your editing experience.
