First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at News 12 Networks.
News Producer
One zoom interview happened. They didn't ask me for a writers test but I heard others were. They mostly asked about my experience and schedule and where I get my news. Typical stuff for a standard news interview.
- Can you tell me about your experience?
- How do you stay informed about the news?
- Are you available to work full-time onsite?
Intern
I had previously turned down internships with them because they were offered mid-semester and didn't fit my schedule. Then, the internship adviser called me about a summer position. We set up an interview for the next week with the sports director. I went in and talked with him, and it was a really relaxed interview about my skills and editing software. We also just chatted about our favorite teams. After that, I got a tour of the newsroom. The next day, I got an email saying I nailed the interview and would get the paperwork soon.
- Why do you think you're the best candidate for this internship?
Reporter
The interview process at News 12 was pretty simple. I had one interview with the news director and assistant news director, and then they introduced me to the head of operations. They just asked about my previous experience and skillset.
- What's your experience shooting news stories?
- What's your experience writing news stories?
- What's your experience editing news stories?
Real Time Editor
It was a smooth interview process. I had 3 interviews with 3 different people. I was nervous at first not knowing what to expect, but I got more comfortable as it went on and I got the job.
- Can you tell me about your work ethic?
