First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Newrez.
Business Operations Assistant
They reached out to me, we set up a time, then I went in and interviewed in person. It was professional, but conversational at the same time, and we even had some laughs. My only complaint is that after the interview was over and they made it clear that they had no hesitations about me as a candidate, i sent them a follow up email and then got ghosted.
- Who do you think is the most crucial element in the company's system?
Imaging Business Analyst
The recruiter was great during the whole process, making it easy. I had a 30-minute phone chat, then met with the manager, VP, and team for separate 30-minute chats. These felt more like casual chats than formal interviews. After a couple of weeks, I got a rejection email. Then, a few weeks later, the recruiter called to check if I was still interested. I said yes, but then saw the job posted again. Honestly, I wish they hadn't called me back.
- Could you start by telling me about yourself?
- What is your motivation for wanting to join Newrez?
HRIS Analyst
I first chatted with the recruiter, and then the next morning I had a virtual interview with the Hiring Manager and their boss. The recruiter said it went super well, so I was set up for another interview that same afternoon with someone technical, and then with another HR person the day after that. After finishing the last round on Thursday, they said I should hear back by Friday or early the next week. I waited until Tuesday and reached out to the recruiter but got no reply. A few days later, I emailed again but still no response. I ended up taking another job offer, but this experience really left a bad taste about the company and their hiring teams, especially since I spent my time on 4 interviews and got good feedback each time.
- How do you manage working in a fast-paced, sometimes hectic environment, which is common in the mortgage lending/servicing industry?
Marketing Intern
The interviewer was really nice and professional. They asked me questions about my past experiences, jobs I've had, the different college courses I took, and why I'm interested in Marketing. They also explained what this role is all about and what the day-to-day tasks would involve.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- What is your background and work experience?
