First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NEWAGESYS.
Recruiter
The interview wasn't difficult, but it was very detailed. I was asked to create search strings, conduct actual candidate searches, and make a few calls. I feel like this process is logical and would help filter out people not suited for this job.
- Create search strings, do actual candidate searches, and make a couple of actual calls.
Business Development Manager
Had a bunch of calls with the same people. They asked for references and proof of everything, which felt like a waste of my time. They initially agreed to one salary, but then offered me less than I was making.
- Can you tell me about the company you worked for previously?
- What were the clients like at your former company?
- What were your daily KPIs?
HR Manager
The first head-hunting call was a bit jarring because the recruiter casually mentioned that 'hostility towards new joiners' and 'office politics' are common occurrences. It was surprising for a 25-year-old company with a grievance redressal team to have issues with welcoming new employees. It's also odd that an experienced HR manager candidate (10+ years) had to take an Excel test typically given to associates. Hopefully, NewAge can bring some order to their chaotic recruitment process.
- What are the usual HR-based questions?
Python Developer
It started with a phone call, then I had a face-to-face interview. During the interview, they asked if I was willing to commit to at least a year with the company, which I'm not sure if it's a contract or something else. Everything seemed to go well and I was selected. They mentioned they would send an offer letter soon, but first, they needed my past payslips, which I sent from my email. After waiting a week with no offer, I contacted HR. She explained the offer letter had to come from the US office and the responsible person was on leave. I waited two more weeks, still no news, so I called HR again. This time, she said they needed to conduct more interviews before making a final decision. Honestly, I feel this is not how candidates should be treated. If you're not sure about hiring someone, don't tell them they're selected and that an offer is coming. Also, the communication about the interview schedule wasn't great. They should provide clear updates on selection status. I waited nearly a month with no information, which is unacceptable treatment for candidates.
- Tell me about your experience with Python.
- What is your experience with Odoo?
- Do you have experience with PostgreSQL?
