First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at New Relic.
Talent Acquisition Coordinator
I applied and then spoke with a recruiter on the phone. Next, I had a 2-hour onsite with about 4 or 5 people from the talent acquisition team. After that, I had a 1-hour video interview with the Hiring Manager and an Employment Brand Specialist. The whole experience was great, from the interview process to onboarding. Everyone I met was really nice and welcoming. It felt more like a conversation than an interrogation. They seemed genuinely interested in me as a person, not just if I could do the job. It was clear they really believe in the company values, which is important to me. They were very organized and kept things moving, and I started working there just a week after my interview – they don't waste time. They're also really approachable, and were flexible and supportive if I ever had questions or needed to reschedule. I'm happy to be part of the team!
- Can you define collaboration and explain what it entails?
- Tell me about a time a project didn't go as planned and how you ensured it was finished or made up for.
Technical Recruiter
Applied online and then connected with the TA team via LinkedIn. My first call was with the Director in SF, which was a good chat and we clicked. Then I moved on to the next round with the Portland TA lead. They really represented the company culture and their talent acquisition strategy well. I advanced after that and prepared for the onsite.
- Tell me about your past successes.
- What are the methods and tools you are most familiar with?
- How do you assess culture fit and what is your approach to adding value to a diverse team?
Director of Talent Acquisition
I had a 30-minute phone screen, then five 30-minute onsite interviews. Two people were out, so only three happened. One of the missing ones was done over Skype the next day. They verbally confirmed next steps but never followed up about my candidacy, the decision, or if the role was filled. I emailed the VP of People and the recruiter, but they ignored me. It's been six weeks and still no reply, a really bad candidate experience.
- What are your thoughts on the company's strong focus on Diversity and Inclusion?
