First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at New Relic.
Customer Success Manager
The recruiter got in touch to set up the interview. On the first call, they spent most of the time talking about the company's current situation and asked to schedule a second call for the interview, after which I was told I was progressing. I was informed I'd hear from the hiring manager in just under a week. However, I didn't receive any communication from either of them. After sending two emails to thank them and ask for an update, I never got a response.
- Can you discuss your professional background and any career changes you've made?
Customer Success Manager
The interview process varies by department and role. For me, it took about 6 weeks to get an offer, mostly due to some internal back-and-forth on responsibilities. The actual steps were: a first phone screen, then a video call with US-based VPs/Managers, followed by another video call with more US-based Managers. If successful, the next step is an onsite visit which includes an assignment. During the onsite, you meet senior management, potential teammates, and your direct manager. It all wraps up with a presentation of the assignment you completed. I actually enjoyed the process; the Sydney office really emphasizes culture fit, which I think is great.
- How would you respond if a client wants something that your internal team isn't on board with?
- Can you tell me about your technical skills?
- What's your motivation for wanting to join New Relic?
Customer Success Manager
The whole interview thing took about 2 months. I had video calls with 8 people from the team, around 45 minutes each. I also had to make a presentation using a made-up client situation and what New Relic offers. Everyone I talked to was super smart, friendly, and professional, really showing New Relic's core values. The people and work culture are big for me, and New Relic's are awesome. The recruiter kept me in the loop and was really organized. My only thought is that it took quite a while, maybe it could be faster? But overall, it was a good experience, and New Relic has a solid interview process with great people.
- What are the top 3 qualities you have that add value to your role and New Relic?
- How would your manager or teammates describe you and how you work?
- Can you walk me through how you'd handle a particular scenario?
