The recruiter got in touch through WhatsApp and sent a questionnaire asking for personal details and my strengths. If I passed that stage, they scheduled an online interview. The interview questions were interesting, not too simple and not too tough. The interviewer explained the business very clearly.

The people I interviewed with were nice and asked decent questions. In the second round, I had to present a portfolio, which I wasn't told about beforehand. The final interview was a case study presentation. Newlab didn't impress me by ghosting me for a month after my final interview. I finally got an email from HR saying they moved forward with someone else, but then an hour later, another HR person emailed saying they weren't sure of the status and would follow up. I also heard they made someone an offer and then rescinded it the next day because they decided not to hire for the role at all. Hopefully, this is just growing pains, but things felt disorganized.

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Round 1 involved general questions about my current work, examples of past projects, and what I'm seeking in my next role.
  • Round 2 was a portfolio review.
  • Round 3 was a case study presentation with tactical questions interspersed.

I was asked to sign up for an interview slot. On the day of the interview, nobody showed up. I reached out right after the interview was supposed to end. I didn't hear back. I reached out again the next day to reschedule and only got a response at night saying they had cancelled and thought I would have gotten a notice. I had rearranged my schedule and spent time preparing, and the lack of communication and disregard for interviewees' time from multiple team members was unprofessional.
