First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nevada State Bank.
Relationship Banker
The interview process was average, fast, and easy. They'll give you a call, and management will ask you for a list of questions. They'll ask about 5 questions of their own, plus a list of preset questions from the bank to keep things consistent.
- Describe a challenging situation you faced and how you managed it.
Banker
After an in-depth online application/questionnaire, there's a group interview with 2-4 people (mix of HR and branch managers) and 10-15 candidates. You'll need to present a product you're passionate about and know well, like cell phones or clothes, to sell to the interviewers in front of everyone. Avoid bringing personal items like clothes you're wearing, as it's a bad idea. They might also play a game, like Pictionary, to gauge your participation. Then, they ask several questions. After a short break, you'll be called into a small office individually to be told if you got the job. Drug testing and a background check are required before starting. The role includes a 2-3 day observation in a branch followed by a week of training. After that, you'll observe a teller for two weeks before handling your own drawer with the training teller supervising. The whole training is supposed to be about 2 months, but sometimes you're put to work right after class training ends, depending on the branch.
- Just be sure to bring a good item to sell and practice your pitch extensively beforehand, focusing on giving them reasons to want the item, not just why you personally like it.
Manager
I had 3 interviews in total. They asked pretty standard questions and everything went well. They asked various questions about my previous role and what I did. The interviewer was nice and we connected well throughout the process. Once I answered the questions, the hiring manager called me back a week later to schedule another interview and then offered me the job over the phone.
- What are your 5-year career aspirations?
Assistant
after submitting your application online, expect a 1-2 week review period. successful candidates will then undergo a phone screening. if that goes well, a second interview with the team is scheduled. finally, if the team is happy with you, you'll interview with the department manager.
- Could you introduce yourself?
