Software Development Engineer in Test
so first there was like a quick chat with HR to get things rolling, and then a bunch of technical interviews. these tech interviews were all about automation frameworks, coding skills, API testing, and how I approach problems. they also wanted to chat about projects I've worked on and how I'd handle real-world testing situations. it felt pretty solid and they really dug into things.
- Can you describe how you would set up and build a test Automation Framework for a Web Application that can scale?
- What are your thoughts on automation frameworks?
- Show me your coding skills.
Software Development Engineer in Test
The interview was pretty solid and covered a lot. There were about three technical rounds, then two rounds that were more techno-managerial, and finally one HR round. The technical parts went deep into Selenium, Java basics, how to design frameworks, SQL, TestNG, automation approaches, and CI/CD stuff like Jenkins. The techno-managerial bits were more about how I think through problems, especially in practical situations, how I make choices, and how I'd build smart testing plans.
- They presented a scenario and wanted me to write the complete code for it, involving UI automation that needed to work on different browsers and include some unique assertions.
