First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Netlight.
IT Consultant
The interview process had three phases, which aligns with what others have reported for the Netlight IT consultant position. The hiring manager's approach was very supportive, transparent, and feedback-oriented throughout. I was ultimately not selected after the final partner interview, and received feedback afterward. The main reason cited was that my communication and demonstrated competence weren't sufficient for the role's seniority level. For context, I had 2.5 years of experience as a working student, not full-time. The second and third interviews were onsite, and travel expenses were covered.

- Design the architecture for a system.
IT Consultant
The whole process took about two months. It started with them reaching out on LinkedIn, followed by an HR phase. After that, a technical interview happened, which involved discussing my background and then a hypothetical consulting scenario. The HR chat was pleasant, but the technical interviewers were not welcoming. I was unprofessionally questioned about my master's thesis, and the interviewers' dynamic was awkward. One interviewer seemed to misunderstand an algorithm question, incorrectly judged my answer, and was then corrected by the other. It felt like a potential 'good cop, bad cop' tactic, making it the worst interview experience.

IT Consultant
I applied for an Entry-Level IT Consultant role. They wanted 1-2 years of software dev experience, but I had over 3 years. Even though I was technically overqualified, they rejected me after the first HR interview. They said my answer to a project question was 'unstructured.' I mentioned my consulting background and desire to grow in it, but they didn't even give me a technical interview. The recruiter said they had too many junior candidates, which made me wonder why they interviewed me. The whole thing felt like a waste of time, and I'm not even sure if the job posting was real.
