Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NETGEAR.
Coop Student
The interview process involved a technical screen where I was asked questions about C pointers, including function pointers with pointer to pointer of int, pointer dereference, and array vs pointer arithmetic. I also had to design a data structure for an embedded system with limited memory. Additionally, there was a behavioral part where I discussed my background, projects, and resume experience. It started with a recruiter call.
- Could you explain multiple pointer concepts in C, such as function pointers with pointer to pointer of int, pointer dereference, and the difference between array and pointer arithmetic?
- How would you design a data structure for storage in an embedded system that has limited memory?
- Please tell me about yourself, your projects, and your relevant experience based on your resume.
Intern
The interview process was pretty straightforward. First, there was a phone call interview where they asked standard questions about my experience and educational background. After that, I had an in-person interview at their office where I met some team members. They asked me about previous projects and the impact I made on those projects.
- Can you give an example of a marketing project you've led or been a part of before?
Intern
The process started with a referral from a campus recruiter for a specific role in environmental compliance. Scheduling the initial Skype interview took several months, followed by a few more weeks before an offer was extended. The recruiter was very persuasive and withheld the offer letter until I committed, which led me to decline other opportunities. After confirming my acceptance and start date, I was promised more details for my first day. However, after two weeks of no communication from the company, my offer was unexpectedly rescinded just three days before my scheduled start date. This happened after I had already made arrangements, including moving and resigning from my previous job. This experience was highly unprofessional and unethical, leaving me extremely disappointed and confused by the company's poor candidate communication.
- In the context of managing a supply chain, what key elements would you assess across the three scopes?
