Netflix outsourced the first recruiter screen to a recruiting consulting firm and the recruiter was extremely rude and blunt. They spent about 5 minutes telling me how the dates I listed on my resume didn’t line up with when I was working at my previous company, even though I had the information correct. I asked if they wanted me to send an updated resume just in case, and they shut me down and said they don’t care and that Netflix will find out I’m lying when they run the background check, so I shouldn’t lie about my work dates, and they didn’t even let me explain how they were mistaken. The recruiter was also very rude about my unemployment and questioned what I’m doing right now in a rude tone. I was disappointed in the interview and the recruiter quality.

I only had 2 calls in total: a recruiter's call with a recruiting researcher to explore my fit within the organization, and a hiring manager's call with a Recruiting Manager. It was a super friendly and positive experience for me. I didn't end up with an offer, but I learned a lot from the conversation with the hiring manager. My recruiter was also supportive and helpful in the process. The HM told me that she enjoyed the conversation and would recommend me for the next step to meet the rest of the team. However, my recruiter asked me to connect with their talent mobility team first before moving to the next step as I'm on H1B. This process took me 3 weeks, and I ended up being told that the position had been closed. It was a bit disappointing to me, but there was nothing else I could do better. Really hope that visa transfer won't be too much of a pain in the future. It sounded like the rest of the process would include a sourcing exercise and general behavioral interviews with other team members.
