Sales
It was a multi-step process that for me took about 4 weeks from start to finish. Initially, I had to submit my resume, answer some basic questions, provide references, and then review NPE's Core Values and respond to about 4-5 questions about them. After that, I had the chance to meet with 4 people from the NPE team via video or in person. The specific tasks vary depending on the role. It felt a bit long, but they stayed in touch and always let me know what was next. Since the process wasn't rushed and was well-structured, I felt like I knew a lot about the company before my first day. As one of the new hires in training with me put it, "I went from just interviewing for this job, with this company to I had to have this job with NPE".
- What's the most recent book you've finished reading?
Client Care Representative
This was the longest interview process I've ever seen. It started with a 10-minute phone interview, followed by a writing assignment. Then, there was another long phone interview. After that, I had to complete another writing assignment with questions. Then came an individual interview, and after that, they invited me back for a two-person interview. That's five interviews so far. The craziest part is that after all this, they didn't even have the decency to say they'd hired someone else. I called HR two weeks later, and they said upper management was still deciding. I'd advise anyone applying to look elsewhere.
- What are some basic questions you have?
- Can you tell me about the questions that were asked repeatedly in all interviews?
Client Care
The interview process was long and involved multiple steps and interviews. It started with a group interview, followed by an email where I had to explain why they should hire me. Then, there was another email asking me to review the Go Giver story. After that, I received another email requiring me to write up responses to some scenarios. Next, I had a one-on-one interview. This was followed by an interview with the director. After that, there was a final interview scheduled. I waited for an email about it and eventually reached out to inquire. Michael informed me that the position had been temporarily "cut" and my application would be held until further notice, which was quite discouraging after putting in so much effort.
- What makes you a suitable candidate for this role?
- Can you summarize and discuss the Go Giver story?
- How would you handle the given scenarios?
Graphic Designer
I got a call from a recruiter about a graphic designer role with good pay. I agreed to interview. After an initial recruiter call, I had an interview with the company. It was a group interview with another candidate and two people who weren't even for the designer role. We took a multiple-choice test on teamwork, introduced ourselves, and learned about the company. Then, we were asked three typical interview questions. Afterward, I asked about their management style, and they claimed they don't micromanage. They then asked us to email why we're good team players by a 2-day deadline. After they liked my response, they sent me a book to read and write an essay about how it relates to me, all within 4 days. I found this unprofessional and dropped out.
- Can you share an instance where you exceeded what was asked of you?
- Explain why you are a valuable team player.
- Describe your approach to management.
