Analyst
It was a very informal and friendly chat, where they asked about my experience. It also felt like a vibe check because it's a small team. There was a fairly time-consuming and comprehensive pre-task to complete, but it was very suited to the role.
- What would your former coworkers say about you?
Advertising
The interview process had some inappropriate questions that weren't really relevant to the job. It would have been good to get a feel for what the company is like to work for. The culture seems a bit disjointed and potentially negative if you don't get along with the owner.
- What do your parents do for a living?
Developer
I applied and got a call within a week that went okay. Then an interview was set up for the next week. The first interview was really short and felt more like a personality test than a real interview. Things moved fast because they needed to fill the role, but even though they said I'd 'hear something within a week' after the second interview, I was totally ghosted. I was given a 'test' with no explanation, making it tough to do anything with it unless you just made stuff up. I mentioned this, but they weren't really into it. They even admitted I should've gotten context, but it didn't seem to change anything. They did show me around their operation, which would've been helpful before the 'skills test.' They seemed nice, but they want someone who already knows their specific business to sell their in-house SaaS. The job listing title didn't fit the sales focus they seemed to want, as the interview kept circling back to 'sales experience.'
- What are your long-term career aspirations?
- Can you share some of your personal interests or hobbies?
- Describe your experience presenting data to clients.
Account Executive
The interview process had 3 stages. First, there was a phone call with HR. Then, an initial meeting with 2 Account Directors. Finally, I met with a few different people from the agency. The second interview felt more like a casual chat, probably because my experience was sufficient, so they didn't grill me.
- Can you discuss your past experience and how it aligns with this role?
