Applied online and the recruiter called to discuss salary expectations early on. An initial offer of X was mentioned. A technical interview followed with a difficult interviewer, which I passed. Then I had a client interview, which I also passed. The recruiter then called back to discuss terms and offered X-$10,000, claiming the initial offer was never made. They wanted me to join in less than a week. I declined because the situation felt suspicious, possibly due to an unprofessional recruiter or company practices.
