I only made it to the initial 30-minute phone screen with a recruiter. For those who get past that stage, the process is: a 30-minute recruiter phone screen, followed by a 30-minute call with the hiring manager, then a 30-minute case study with the hiring manager and a teammate. The final stage is a full-day panel interview, which is virtual over Zoom and can be split into two days.

I had a great time interviewing at NerdWallet. The recruiter knew a lot about the company and the role. Everyone I spoke with seemed prepared and had questions ready. The interviews were pretty conversational. The onsite was a bit tiring with back-to-back meetings, but they made sure I had breaks and what I needed, like food and water. They didn't ask tricky questions, but instead asked things to see how I work with others and solve problems.

I applied for a job at NerdWallet and a recruiter reached out to schedule an interview. I gave my availability but then didn't hear back for a week even though I followed up. I eventually got a generic rejection email saying the position was filled, which was frustrating. I would have preferred more direct and timely communication.
