Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NERA.
Research Analyst
It was a 2 stage interview process. First I spoke with the MD and then had 3 back to back interviews with a Senior Analyst. There was a small case study involving an acquisition that I had to complete in Excel. The questions mainly centered on my research background and my thesis.
- Can you elaborate on your research experience?
- Please tell me about your thesis topic.
Research Analyst
The entire interview process took about two and a half hours. It included a final round with questions about my MS thesis, specifically focusing on econometrics. There was also a behavioral round that was quite straightforward, and I completed a live Excel test.
- Could you tell me about your MS thesis?
Research Analyst
I had a call that lasted about 50 minutes. We went over my resume, my dissertation, and my long-term career plans. I also talked about my IT and analysis skills and why I'm interested in Nera. The conversation was pleasant and relaxed. At the end, I was able to ask some questions about the application process and the company structure.
- Why do you want to work in Economic Consulting?
- Can you summarize your thesis?
