First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NeoLife International.
R&D Scientist
I was contacted by a hiring manager to gauge my interest and suitability for the role. Following that, they set up an interview. The initial stage involved an HR screening, and I believe the subsequent round was planned to be with the hiring manager and someone from marketing.
- How would your previous five managers rate you on a scale of 1 to 10, and can you explain your reasoning?
Software Engineer
The interview process was smooth and easy, well-structured, and all questions were relevant to the role. They asked questions about my past work experience and gauged my ability to solve problems. It was a series of two interviews before I was offered the job.
- Tell me about your experience in your previous role and how those skills can be applied to this position.
Vice President of Marketing
The job search was handled by a great executive recruiter. After a bunch of calls with them, I sent in my statement of interest. Then, I had a 35-minute chat with the HR partner. This HR person was pretty new to the role and nice, but a bit passive. Her questions showed her experience level. While the Zoom call felt okay, I got the sense that NeoLife's HR isn't very experienced or staffed with career HR people.
- Could you list your last five supervisors and provide their rating of you on a scale from 1 to 10?
- What are eight of your strengths?
- What are you looking to avoid in your next position?
Product Development Formulator
I got contacted the day after applying and had a phone chat with HR the next day. We went over my background and what I'm looking for. Then, I was invited for an onsite interview the following week where I met with the same HR person and the hiring manager. The questions were all pretty direct about my past work and my career aspirations. I had to fill out a paper application there and give them three references.
