It was a really straightforward process. First, I had a chat with an HR recruiter, and then I spoke with the Director of Retail. Both interactions were just phone calls. They were both super friendly, and it felt more like a casual conversation than a formal interview. I genuinely enjoyed talking with both of them, which made me even more eager to start the internship.

I had a great initial Zoom interview with the Senior HR Director for an HR Director role earlier this year. It went well, so I was set up for a second interview with the GM. However, 30 minutes before our scheduled meeting, the interviewer's assistant emailed me to reschedule for later that afternoon due to a schedule change. No problem, I could be flexible. Then, 5 minutes before the new time, she emailed again, asking to move it to the next day because of an emergency. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and agreed. The next day, I joined the meeting a few minutes early and waited. After 5 minutes, then 10, I emailed the admin to see if anyone would join. 5 minutes later, I logged off. Three days later, the admin emailed back, citing another emergency, without an apology or details, saying she'd send a new invite. She didn't check my availability but sent an invite for later that week. I was disappointed, but ultimately glad, as it showed a broken culture and lack of respect. If this is how they treat candidates, I didn't want to join. The following week, the admin emailed again, saying they were disappointed I missed the rescheduled interview and were no longer considering me. I replied that I hadn't been considering them for over a week.

First, I spoke with their attorney. Then, I went to the property and interviewed with 12 people in one day, which was quite intense. The owner interview was odd because I don't think she knew what she was looking for. She mentioned wanting a partner? They said they'd get back to me, but never did, which shows a lack of courtesy. In a follow-up, the HR person said we were still in the process, then she quit, and I never heard anything else.
