First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Neill.
Institute Director
I applied and got a call from main HR for a phone interview. It took them a while to call me back with a time but they had a pretty good excuse for the delay. The interview went really well and I decided I wanted to move forward. About a week later, I had an onsite interview with the Institute Director and Regional Director. That also went really well and I enjoyed the experience. I was told after about a week I'd be contacted. After that week with no contact, I followed up with HR, waited again, and was told they wanted a final interview with a principal. I did that via skype and again enjoyed the experience. I was then offered the position a few days later and was quite excited about the opportunity to work at this school and with its amazing students. When I asked the standard questions about insurance, time off, etc., I still thought things were going well. I was a bit taken aback that the offer didn't quite match what I put as my minimum on the application. So I countered with $2000 more and was told she would ask and get back to me the next day. The next day came and went. I called at the end of the day... nothing. The weekend passed... nothing. I called that next day... nothing. At this point, I was quite taken aback and frustrated with the lack of communication and should have known based on the previous slow communication that they're bad in that area. Finally, after sending an email, I got a curt response that they were not going to fill the position. Really?! After offering me the job and wasting a crazy amount of my time and yours, the offer was rescinded.
- Standard questions were asked.
- No difficult questions, just the usual ones.
Instructor
I've never had such a run around and false promise experience. Interviewed 4 times in November, they said they wanted to move forward but then decided not to fill the position yet. It seemed like it would be a week or two, but after a month they stopped responding. Got a call in May saying the spot was open and asked if I wanted it, which I did. Then more run around. They said they needed to call the school to get my schedule, so I used all my PTO. Three weeks later, they called to schedule ANOTHER interview. I was told it was technical so I prepared, but it wasn't, and I looked unprepared. I answered all questions only to be told they are at capacity for instructors but interviewing in case someone quits. Unacceptable to give false hope. Every review says this is a great company, but they give many people false hope.
- Tell me three words that describe you.
Sales Manager
I applied for the job on Indeed and a recruiter named Alicia emailed me a few days later to set up a phone screen. The phone screen went fine, so we scheduled a Skype interview. She was late, but the interview went well. She then emailed me an assessment to complete and send back. She said that would move me to the next round. I never heard back after that, even after sending two follow-up emails. It was really disrespectful of my time and shows they don't have any empathy or respect for others! Learn to act like adults and stop wasting people's time!
- What are your strategies for driving results?
Director
The process began with a group interview involving multiple candidates. An icebreaker activity required each person to interview their neighbor, who would then introduce them to the larger group. While this initial stage didn't lead to the job being considered, the company identified a more suitable opening based on my skills. The subsequent interview stages were pretty standard and straightforward.
