I was referred by a friend. HR said they would advance me or schedule a call, but then ghosted. My friend followed up internally to ensure my referral was seen. After several weeks, HR emailed asking for my availability for an initial call the following Monday/Tuesday. I provided my availability, but heard nothing back. Monday/Tuesday passed, and after multiple follow-ups over a few weeks, they finally responded and scheduled a call. During the brief screening call, they mostly read the job description and asked a couple of basic questions. They then said they wanted to move me forward and would send details for the department interview by the end of the day. Again, no communication. It took 3 follow-up emails and a voicemail over the next week to get a response stating they had chosen an internal candidate. It was almost funny how poorly this was handled and how many of my follow-up emails were ignored. It felt unprofessional, rude, and lazy. Clearly, they did the bare minimum and damaged their company's candidate experience reputation.

The first three rounds were alright; the interviewers seemed interested and liked my background. I had a fourth interview because someone missed the third one and rescheduled. That fourth interview was really weird; the interviewer wasn't paying attention, kept cutting me off, asked about stuff not in the job description, and was overall condescending. I tried to be understanding, but I don't think they knew how to interview properly. Maybe HR needs to step in.

The interview process involved several stages. Before the technical interview, my package expectations were discussed. After completing all rounds, the package expectations were brought up again and negotiated, even though I had agreed to a lower amount than initially asked. Following this, I was asked to submit all my documents, and the HR representative indicated an offer would be released. However, after sending the documents, I was informed they didn't have the budget, which was confusing as budget discussions had already happened multiple times – initially, during the VP round, and then again during the HR negotiation. It felt like a waste of time given that I was asking for less than twice my previous package based on my experience. I would not recommend this company to others.

So I had 2 rounds of technical interviews. The first one covered basic Python stuff like context managers, decorators, and data structures, plus a medium Leetcode problem. The second round also focused on Python data structures and their properties.
