Product Manager
The latest interview process involves presenting a product you managed. You'll be asked about challenges and learnings from it, along with some behavioral questions. The team is nice but will challenge you effectively. The vibe is laid-back, but the people are smart and can ask tough questions. Be authentic because they can tell if you're not. It includes a phone interview, a presentation of a product you managed, and meetings with team members and future bosses. Talking to many people gives you a good sense of who you'd be working with and if you'd all get along.
- Can you walk me through a product you managed and delve into the 'why' behind your decisions and how successful they were?
- What specific accomplishment or aspect of a product you managed are you most proud of?
Software Engineer
I applied for the role via a university job referral. The hiring team reached out the next day to schedule an in-person interview for the following week. On the interview day, I first had a 30-minute programming skills test on paper with the hiring manager. Afterward, we had a 30-minute face-to-face conversation where he mostly asked programming questions, including a challenging one I mentioned. He also asked basic behavioral questions like about my knowledge of the company, my motivation for the role, and my project background. Then, I was given a tour of the office.
- How can you sum two numbers represented as digit strings to produce a new digit string representing their sum, e.g. "120" + "30" = "150"?
- What do you know about this company?
- Why are you interested in this position?
Applications Support Specialist
I found out about the company at a career fair at my university where I met a software developer. HR reached out a few weeks later about a phone screen, which was followed by a more technical phone interview. Then came the onsite, which was pretty intense - I met 9 people in 3 hours and answered programming questions, got a pamphlet with programming puzzles to solve, and also chatted with two employees from their Belfast office over Skype. It felt like a really positive experience, the employees seemed super keen to tell me about the company's goals, and the HR person was awesome - super quick and helpful. They definitely don't waste any time!
- Can you explain how to set up stack tracing in ASP.NET?
New Employee
The interview process was great, I got a good sense of the work culture and company. I also learned what was expected of me in the role. It all sounded like a good fit for me. NaviNet kept in touch and the process was quick, which helped me turn down other job offers. Everything from the first email to the directions for my first day was excellent.
