First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Naval Information Warfare Systems Command.
Student Developer
Got a referral from a friend, which was helpful. The interview mainly involved discussing my past experience. This was for an internship/student contractor role at SDSURF.
- Could you tell me about your experience?
Software Engineer
So the interview process had 2 interviews. First was a phone interview, a call with 4-5 people who are all leads for different software projects. They asked basic behavioral questions and for me to explain some projects. Second was an on site interview where I had to do three hands on questions. One was basic, finding prime numbers, another to analyze a relational schema, and a third one where I wasn't expected to finish to test how I approach problems.
- What do you think is wrong with this relational schema?
Software Engineer
It was a pretty standard interview. Mostly behavioral questions and questions about my resume. They asked me what I knew about spawar. Also, typical strengths and weakness questions. They also looked closely at my resume and asked me to go into detail about parts.
- What are your strengths and weaknesses?
- Could you detail your academic coursework or the responsibilities from your prior employment?
