First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NAUTO.
Software Engineer
The interview process went pretty well. It kicked off with a quick recruiter call to get acquainted. Then, the next week, I had a technical phone screen with a hiring manager, which included a live coding exercise. After that, I was invited to an on-site interview at their PA office. When I got there, the recruiter met me at reception and gave me a brief tour before taking me to the interview room. Five interviewers showed up on time and asked a mix of technical and behavioral questions. We also had lunch, where I could talk with my potential manager. The recruiter walked me out at the end. They said they'd let me know about an offer within 48 hours.
- Questions about Data Structures and Algorithms
- Behavioral questions
Software Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard. I got some typical whiteboard questions like checking if a string is a palindrome and dealing with hash collisions. The main issue was that the team seemed quite disorganized; they left me waiting in a conference room for about 30 minutes because they were scrambling to find someone else to interview me since the original person wasn't available.
- Can you explain the mechanism behind the a to i conversion?
Software Engineer
The interview process was super fast, took less than a week, which was great. It went straight to an onsite interview. The recruiter was really nice and showed me around. Then, I had lunch with the Director of Engineering, CTO, and some engineers for a casual chat, like a meet-and-greet. After that, I had two 45-minute technical interviews. The first one involved looking at code, figuring out what it does, what's wrong, and how to make it better, all on paper. It was tough if you don't code much, but they really want to see your thinking process. For me, it was medium difficulty and relied on experience. The second technical interview was a standard whiteboard coding problem, like a medium/hard LeetCode question. The interviewers were great, sharing a lot about their work at Nauto. Then, I had two 30-minute interviews with the recruiter and the Director of Engineering, covering typical HR stuff. I also met a few more engineers for informal chats, no technical stuff. I got an offer within a week, so it was a really positive experience overall.
- Analyze code that has issues and uses an unknown API to determine its functionality, identify problems, and suggest enhancements.
- Solve a coding challenge on a whiteboard, focusing on common algorithm and data structure problems.
- Engage in a general get-to-know-you conversation during lunch.
