So first I had a chat with the hiring manager, then I had a panel with some of my potential peers, and finally I met with one of the leaders in the org.
- How comfortable are you with donor databases and how familiar are you with them?
Environmental Educator
I just had my second interview! The process involved two rounds: one phone call and then a zoom meeting. They were nice and gave us the questions ahead of time. I was told to let my references know they might get contacted.
- How would you handle teaching a water quality lesson in the cold during winter?
Manager
I applied online and then got scheduled for a phone interview. They gave me the questions ahead of time. The interview lasted about 30 minutes and was pretty easy. The interviewer seemed really interested in talking to me. Unfortunately, I didn't get the job because I wasn't qualified.
- What makes you want to be the Outreach and Enrollment Manager in Yosemite and how does it align with your career aspirations?
- What skills and experiences do you possess that would enable you to excel in this position?
- Could you share your knowledge and enthusiasm for environmental science education and Yosemite National Park?
Environmental Science Educator
I had an in-person interview that lasted about an hour with two of the managers. They were super friendly and asked questions straight from a script. I didn't have to do a teaching lesson myself, though I've heard that's something people applying for this job have had to do in more recent years.
- Could you discuss the organization's diversity, equity, and inclusion statement?
