It was a chill and easy interview. The recruiters were nice and there were two rounds. The first round was with the manager and the second was with their boss. The first round was mostly just talking about what I knew about the industry.

The initial chat with the recruiter was super short, like only 5 minutes, which felt way too brief for them to actually learn anything about me. After that, they just went silent and ghosted me. I felt like I was a good fit for the job and I'm a normal person, so I can't figure out why they were so dismissive.

The interview process was thorough and gave me a lot of insight. Everyone I spoke with was respectful and genuine. I sent in my resume online and then had a phone screening, followed by an in-person interview. I was supposed to meet two people, but only one could make it because the other had a last-minute meeting come up. The interviewer apologized for the mix-up and we carried on. They had a list of questions and started with some about the company and its owners. They really wanted detailed answers and would ask for more info if I was too general. Honestly, within the first five minutes, I felt pretty weird and almost wanted to leave because of the way they were asking questions and how insincere it felt. I felt awkward, like I was wasting their time because my background wasn't really in sales support like they were looking for, even though my resume was clear about being marketing-focused. The interviewer then asked me to briefly explain my previous jobs, where they were, and what I did. But they cut me off when I was talking about my past work, saying it wasn't relevant to this role. I was pretty shocked and put off by that, and the vibe stayed the same for the rest of the 45-minute interview. By the end, it was pretty clear I wasn't qualified and wouldn't get the job. I felt like it could have been a 15-minute interview, but it dragged on. Since we both knew it wasn't a good fit, the interviewer then mentioned other jobs that might be a better match, like a marketing internship! I thought that was a bit strange and even a little insulting, considering I already had 3 years of marketing experience and was done with internships. They went on to say how hard it is to get into their marketing department and that an internship would be my best bet. To be nice, I considered it and finished the interview with a smile. On a good note, I did get a nice swag bag, which was a plus. I sent a thank you email afterward but never heard back. Overall, the interview with that specific person was negative, but everyone else I interacted with at the company seemed really nice.
