The application form was pretty involved, with a bunch of long questions. Then I had a 30-minute phone call, followed by an in-person interview at the Museum. This included a casual 30-minute panel discussion and then a more formal hour-long interview, plus a 15-minute presentation. I was told I'd hear back within a week, but it actually took a whole month to get any kind of update, which was just an automated email with basic feedback. Honestly, after all that, a quick phone call to let me know I didn't get the job would have been better.

I applied online and they called me for an interview a few days after the application closed. It was a group interview and then a 1-on-1 interview. All the questions were about customer service. They really want people who have a positive attitude and can bounce back from challenges.

We all started in a big conference room where they explained how the interview day would go. Then, we were put into teams to work on different scenarios, which was to see how we'd work together. After that, it was one-on-one interviews with two managers. They were super chill and really nice. Left feeling good about it all. The whole thing was easy, supportive, and set up to check both teamwork and individual skills. I got an oral offer the next morning, but couldn't take it because of my student visa. Now that's not an issue, so if any NHM HR sees this, hook me up!

Behavioral Case

I went through a 2-stage interview process, but I only completed the first stage. It was in a large room with a huge table and two staff members. They got defensive when I asked about gaps in my CV or knowledge that concerned them, responding with, "We'd need to review this interview together first, before providing feedback." They also seemed upset when I mentioned the role was advertised as hybrid and there was no mention of it. Their response was, "Sometimes you do training online and we'll allow you to do it from home, but to manage your expectations its an on site role."

Confirmed questions4 questions
  • Can you describe how you would approach your daily responsibilities?
  • What actions would you take initially upon starting this position?
  • Given a situation where one staff member is consistently late, what would be your course of action?
