It had 3 phases in total. First, there was a written test with 4 questions. Second, a language test was given. The last phase was the interview itself. The HR team was really helpful and I thought the process went well overall.

The process was like this: First, a Hirevue Interview, then a Test, followed by a French Test. Finally, there was an Interview - a Final Assessment Panel. The people on the final assessment panel seemed really uninterested in what I had to say. I get the feeling that a lot of interviews are just to tick HR boxes, and the jobs are already basically filled.

I was invited for a written test and interview over a two-day period, with the written test on the first day and the interview on the second day. Ten candidates were shortlisted for the test, although it was surprising to find that many of the candidates did not meet the stated requirements of the post. We were advised that those who failed the written test on day one would not be invited for the interview on day two. Unfortunately, I did not pass the written test. I found the questions did not particularly relate to the role of the job or to NATO and were rather conceptual. I felt rather put out at not even being invited to the interview despite having taken four days of leave and traveled 3,000 km to attend the selection process. Could the written test not be done online and interviews over Skype?
