First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nationwide Building Society.
Risk Manager
Applied online with my CV. HR reviewed it and then I had a 2-hour interview. We talked about my CV and experience, then some standard questions. There was a case study where I was given time to read material during the interview and then discuss it with the interviewers. I also had a chance to ask questions. We could take a short break if needed. It was a single interview, not multiple rounds, so it was pretty efficient.
- Can you discuss your CV and highlight your relevant experience?
- Tell me about your background and experience.
- Answer some standard interview questions.
Case Manager
The interview process involved both a Teams call and an in-person meeting. The application was straightforward and didn't require prior experience. I enjoyed the application process, and the interviewers were very pleasant and easy to talk to.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
Senior Manager
The interview process included a telephone interview, an assessment centre, and a second interview. There were significant delays between stages. Despite being told rejections would be communicated within 24 hours and to keep diaries free for a second interview, rejections were sent over two days later, which felt unprofessional and discourteous. The interviewers were pleasant and polite, and the environment was professional. The provided materials clearly outlined expectations.
- Can you tell me what makes you a good fit for this position?
- What are your motivations for wanting to work at Nationwide?
- How would you describe your leadership approach?
