The interview process included an initial chat with the hiring manager, followed by a take-home assignment where specific prompts were provided. Then, there was a panel interview, after which I interviewed with the COO and finally the CXO. The entire process was very transparent and communicated well. The recruiter was also very responsive and easy to connect with.

Behavioral Other

The first interview was with an older woman who shared her life story and explained there wasn't a specific job description. We then discussed our work history. She mentioned other candidates but said it was great talking to me. Sometimes I feel like employees just use interviews as time-fillers. I was surprised to advance given the low interest shown in the first interview. In the second interview, the interviewer kept her camera off, and I had to speak to a black screen. They said they appreciated my 'enthusiasm' but I wasn't a good fit, which is odd since the role had no stated requirements. It felt like a waste of time.

Behavioral Technical

I applied online for the Partnerships Manager role with the Studio in early August and heard back in under three weeks. Kelsey Overby conducted the initial screening video call. When I joined the call at the scheduled time, she was on another meeting, which was a bit awkward. I had to email her five minutes past the scheduled time to check if the interview was still on. Things didn't improve much from there. First, during the company's origin story, she spent a surprisingly long time on the founder's personal history, mentioning places he'd worked and people he'd worked with. It felt odd because it focused heavily on him rather than the organization's actual mission. This framing caught me off guard and left me a bit flustered. Second, she was taking notes, which is fine, but her typing was very loud and she didn't give many verbal cues to show she was listening. After the interview, I sent a standard thank-you email but received no response.

Behavioral Technical Other

I applied and then had a phone screening with an operations person. After that, I had a phone interview with my potential manager. They gave me an assignment to do, and then I had a video conference with three people I would work with. I was disappointed not to hear back after putting in a lot of time on the assignment and going through three interviews. It took a few weeks, and then I just figured I didn't get the job, but I was really annoyed they didn't even let me know after I spent so much time on it.
